Fysiek's logo;

a clean,

energetic logo, young and dynamic,

with a clear image of a Caduceus incorporated.

  • The Caduceus (or Kerykeion), derived from the word caduceator (Latin), meaning negotiator, is a staff that was supposed to grant a negotiator unhindered passage in ancient Greece. As a whole, the Caduceus symbolises peace, protection and healing.
  • The snakes represent all the opposing principles that play a role in the manifest universe: male/female, sun/moon, soul/spirit or in alchemical terms: Sol/Luna and sulphur/mercury.
  • The staff itself represents the axis between heaven and earth, above and below.
  • The wings represent transcendence. Transcendence literally means ‘passing beyond’, and refers to ‘being above something’. Like a good teacher stands above his teaching, and can look at it from the outside.
  • The Caduceus as a whole, apart from the aforementioned peace, protection and healing, symbolises above all Unity, which is achieved through the reconciliation of opposites.

All in all, it symbolises many things FSV Fysiek strives for, unity between school and students, improvement of training in many ways, us as negotiators in the whole, and above all, physiotherapy as a whole; protection (prevention) and healing.
